Research Research Research!

I sincerely apologize for my lack of posting, with going away during mid-term break and having many other school obligations AND having my internet be extremely shotty, the world has not been on my side lately :(

BUT that will not stop me from doing what I need to do to make this project as successful as I possibly can! In this "black-out" time, I've been doing tons and tons of research on what I need to do to make this happen. I've looked up ideas, asked friends for ideas, looked up cost of paints, etc and it's been really interesting reading different people's processes to paint a mural.

I've drawn up a design I hope to get to DiStefano by the end of the week (which I'm really trying to keep a secret!) so I can paint over Spring Break. I would hate to have to paint during the school week because I swear, I havs had vivid nightmares about what the freshman will do to it and it's absolutely terrifying...

Another really cool thing I'm planning to do is utilize the GoPros that were funded for the classroom!! I'm really excited, I plan to film me painting so I can speed up the footage and post it on YouTube!

I'm really excited about this project, I know that through all the hard things I have to go through I will have an awesome outcome :)

The meeting with DiStefano went great! We took a walk around the 2nd floor and he explained to me all the plans he had for different sections of the building. We picked out a few spots to have my choose from and onr spot in particular he was talking to me about was the spot right outside the 2nd floor cafeteria that looks kinda... boring, to say the least.

I wasn't able to talk to me about other things I wanted to talk about, like funds, but that's okay, I'm sure I can handle it by myself. :~)

Tonight I'm going to figure out club details, and do some more research on paints I could use.

I'm super excited this is really happening!!

Got the a-okay from Mr. DiStefano today! I was in Italian class when the email came in on my phone and I almost jumped out of my seat... I was really worried that he wouldn't let me do it so I spent pretty much an entire half an hour writing and rereading and erasing and writing again this email to him and lo and behold, I've got the permission!

I'm so excited to get this project underway! I'm going to talk to his secretary tomorrow to schedule an appointment with him and hopefully we'll get everything worked out and I can officially start this whole process!

I'm hoping to get the club set up in the next couple of weeks and getting people to join. I'm gonna ask my friends and Mr. DiStefano about how I should try and recruit people, and whether or not it should be just for juniors or for the entire school. Anyway it happens, I'm just excited that I get to actually do this! Wish me luck! <3
